BOUGAINVILLAEA 62

As stunning as the tropical flower with which it shares its name, the Kanter Bougainvillaea 62 is a spectacular off-shore, world-cruising yacht. Beyond featuring truly exhilarating sailing speeds, great stability and an unmatched level of comfort, the Bougainvillaea 62 is also one of the safest blue-water cruising yachts in the world.

Named the Offshore Cruiser of the Year in 1991, the Bougainvillaea 62’s exceptional performance and cruising comfort are the result of the bulbed keel’s low centre of gravity. This allows for a moderate draft as well as superior roll damping, low induced drag and tight pointing angles.

Designed by noted naval architect Chuck Paine, the influence of single-handed racing is evident in the design of the Bougainvillaea 62. Like her racing forbearers, she features an extremely long waterline, a narrow beam-to-length ratio and narrow stern sections to reduce changes in helm when heeling. She also features a totally enclosed greenhouse-style helming position with a second u-shaped lounge area beneath the shelter as well as an optional transferable water ballast to minimize the angle of heel on long upwind and reaching legs.

The Bougainvillaea 62 showcases the intrinsic advantages of alloy construction, combining the hull, deck and superstructure into one welded, high-strength watertight structure. It features three welded, watertight aluminum bulkheads for truly exceptional strength and safety, while the hull design creates integral storage tanks for water and fuel below the sole, effectively creating double-bottom construction and safety.

The engine room is located aft of the accommodations and is accessible via a watertight door in the bulkhead aft of the galley. All equipment is centrally located here, including the engine, generator, air conditioner and fresh-water system. The engine room is totally insulated for superior in-cabin sound dampening and above-deck comfort.

Our innovative designs and attention to detail continue inside, as the interior of the Bougainvillaea 62 is stylish, functional and comfortable. Most importantly, it is also customizable so that the unique needs of each and every owner can be fully satisfied.

Ideally laid out for a couple who travels with children, friends or family, the Bougainvillaea 62 features two double cabins with access to en suite heads as well as a main salon with a surprisingly large, comfortable dining and lounging area. The beautifully crafted cabinetwork is available in cherry, mahogany or optional teak, while the cabin sole is finished in teak and holly – and all wood surfaces are finished with six coats of varnish.

Our practical, intelligent design ensures the layout and selection of mechanical and electrical systems makes routine upkeep simple and convenient. A full range of accessories is available to make sure the look, feel and functionality of your vessel meet your uncompromising standards.

Add it all up and you can see that the Kanter Bougainvillaea 62 offers the exceptional performance, world-class safety, innovative design and unmatched style and comfort you deserve.
