KANTER 47
Designed to exude a traditional sense of style, The Kanter 47 captures the true essence of performance, safety and comfort expected by discerning yachting enthusiasts around the world.
Thanks to its intelligent, thoughtful design, the Kanter 47 offers exceptional cruising comfort and stability as well as a world-class interior that is attractive, accommodating and – perhaps most important of all – totally customizable.
Designed by leading international naval architect Dieter Empacher, the Kanter 47 was designed with traditional cruising concepts in mind. The hull form of the Kanter 47 guarantees an excellent reaching boat while keeping the entrance of the waterline fine for good upwind capability. The keel has been designed for maximum lift and the low-wetted surface ensures good light-air performance. In heavier air – and at 15 degrees heel – the Kanter 47 picks up added form stability, which, with her long waterline, gives a calculated hull speed of 8.4 knots. No matter what the conditions, the Kanter 47’s high-aspect-ratio rudder makes her easy to control.
The hull, deck and superstructure of the Kanter 47 are one welded unit, constructed from aluminum marine alloy. Welded, watertight aluminum bulkheads fore and aft make for an incredibly strong, safe craft. The hull design features integral storage tanks for water and fuel below the sole. This makes for a double-skinned hull for additional safety and enhanced cruising comfort while lowering the craft’s centre of gravity to reduce the angle of heeling.
The keel of the Kanter 47 is designed for maximum lift and can be modified to meet each owner’s individual draft requirements.
The generous engine room is located mid-ship under the main salon and is accessible via a watertight door. Sound insulated for improved in-cabin comfort and on-deck cruising, the engine room stores all equipment – including the engine, generator, air conditioner and fresh-water system – in a convenient, central location. Practical, intelligent design ensures the layout and selection of mechanical and electrical systems make routine upkeep simple and convenient.
The thoughtful touches and masterful attention to detail continue inside, as the interior of the Kanter 47 is attractive, functional and completely customizable to meet your specific needs and make your time on board satisfying in every possible way.
Quality materials and craftsmanship abound, with beautiful cherry, ash or even optional teak finishes featured prominently – although more modern approaches can also be accommodated to suit your tastes.
To ensure the comfort and pleasure of those on board, the Kanter 47 is equipped with a spacious master stateroom with a double berth, a private head and shower as well as ample storage and locker space for long-distance provisions, while a large double stateroom with private head is located under the cockpit and bridge deck. Opposite the functional galley is the dinette, which can be converted to a double berth if needed.
With all the performance, safety and comfort you need in a stylish, truly customizable package, the Kanter 47 gives you a truly world-class yachting experience.
